On Wednesday, May 29th from 6–8 pm, we are celebrating our students’ work with drama and musical presentations. Following these performances, our students will display their artwork in the lobby of this venue. A highlight of this Spring festival is our unique Awards Ceremony for the students.
This event will be held at the Cardel Theatre at 180 Quarry Park Blvd, in SE Calgary.
This is a special event organized by our wonderful music teacher Krista Malden. On Wednesday, June 12th, from 6:30 – 8:00pm, we are presenting a special fundraiser to raise money for Banbury Crossroads School. This event will also be held at the Cardel Theatre (180 Quarry Park Blvd). Banbury students will perform music from “The Greatest Show” soundtrack and will be singing and drumming the night away! We invite all guests and performers to mix and mingle in the lobby while enjoying some snacks.

We will be having a garage sale on August 3rd and would welcome any gently-used items! We will hold it again at the Staples parking lot on 9thAvenue and 11thStreet SW in Downtown Calgary. Almost all items of any nature will be welcomed, as long as they are not so large that people will not be able to cart them away. We have enough clothing from our last garage sale; so please do not send any. However, we do not have enough variety of items yet, and it is important to gather a large number of choices for people.
We would kindly ask parents to bring in their items starting at the beginning of June.
Our graduation ceremony will take place on Friday, June 21, from 4 – 7pm. The graduates have chosen a family picnic site at Sandy Beach. We celebrated Lisa’s graduation there last year and it was a truly joyful occasion. Sandy Beach is an outdoor park with a covered shelter next to the Bow River. There is plenty of space for our students to relax, play and roam around. We invite all families to this event, including younger students who can more easily imagine this day for themselves.
This year, we will celebrate the graduation of Nic, Skyler, and Diego. Grad tickets are $10. Please see Anne in the office.
As you probably know, we are hosting a Korean summer camp for the third year in a row. We are quite excited to create long-lasting memories for these students once again! These students (aged 8 – 15) are looking for Canadians to become friends with and to more easily learn our language. Banbury’s summer camp will be offered to our students from the age of six and up for a really great price ($675 for 3 weeks!). We will have additional dedicated teachers doing different activities for our students at the time the Korean students are having ESL classes. All students will go together on many field trips within and outside Calgary (e.g the Calgary Tower, Central Library, Eau Claire Water Park, Studio Bell, Fish Creek Park, Heritage Park, University of Calgary, Stanley Park, Riley Park, Drumheller and Banff, etc. ) as well as having computer, art, music and cooking activities.
In addition, we are offering our secondary students who wish to volunteer as assistants for the international program to obtain credits that will count for their next term’s complementary courses.
Please see Anne in the office to register.
Please save these dates on your calendar to assist us in our biggest Banbury fundraiser. This event will be held at the Cowboys Casino on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th, December 2019. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we really need your support.
